I take it you've seen V for Vendetta? Where Natalie Portman has her head shaved.
Being the age I am I grew my hair in my teens, and kept the style through inertia.
Years later, a couple that I knew had a party.
"We're having an alter ego party come as somebody else."
So I went to a barber's and had a clipper job, bought a pair of Doc Martens, Union Jack tank top and went as a skinhead, the complete opposite of myself.
I had great fun with it.
But I fell in love with the hair style. Maintenance free hair! No2 clipper became my style.
My female friends hated it. They said it looked like I'd just come out of prison. My response?
"I have to have the courage of my convictions."

Nope, never seen V for Vendetta. Great story Bats. I’ve always had a fetish for short haired/bald ladies. I enjoyed punk back in the day and spent a great night in a mosh pit in a pub on the Old Kent Road pogoing with some sweaty girls with Chelseacuts. Heaven! Had a number 2 myself once and liked it but too much water has passed under the bridge now. AI allows me to release my creative side and I like sharing it with others.
You really should check out V for Vendetta. It's a real classic. Great movie.
As for that party, Mel, the lady of the couple greeted me on the doorstep with -
"You bastard!" This being Melspeak for "You've out done me!"
I even had a load of cans of lager! Mind you, that was back last century. Long before alcohol gave me up.
In fact, alcohol has not passed my lips this century, but Real Ale makes a great enema.
Now, in old age, my hair has grown out again. Being flat bound I don't consider appearances at all! Very liberating!
